Chief E.K. CLARKE

Chief Clark was appointed Federal Minister of Information in 1975.

As chief image maker of government, he was one of the ministers detailed by the Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon to sell the idea of ECOWAS to governments in the region and indeed travelled to Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso), Mauritania, amongst others, to invite the Heads of States to the maiden summit.

Rear Admiral F.B.I. PORBENI mni. CFR

Admiral (Ambassador) Festus Bikepre Igbeyinadun Porbeni mni. CFR was born on the 28th of May, 1946. He is from Aduku-Abari in Toru Aboubo Local Gorvernment Area of Bayelsa State. He obtained his First Living Certificate in 1952 from Ereko Primary School, Lagos. He also proceeded to Hussey College Warri, and Government College Ughelli where he obtained his WASC and HSC in 1964 and 1966 respectively.

Rear Admiral Porbeni attended the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy and was Commissioned Sub-Lieutenant in 1970. He also has a Phd. In Business Management.
Admiral Porbeni was the Pionier Defence Adviser and Ambassador to Equitorial Guinea with accreditation to Cameroun, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe from 1982 to 1986. He was also the Resident Ambassador to Equitorial Guinea from 1986 to 1989 and sustained the relationship between Nigeria and Equitorial Guinea.

Admiral Porbeni also held several key positions like Commandant of Nigerian Navy College, Onura, Director of Research and Analytical Studies (DARAS), Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Member Provisional Ruling Council, Minister of Transport from 1998 to 1999. Admiral Porbeni Contributed immensely to the creation of Bayelsa State. And presently, he is the Romanian Consular General in the Niger Delta Area
